Shanghai Letel was founded in March 1992 and is a joint-stock company that integrates research and development, production, marketing, and service of information and communication network infrastructure. The products cover communication wiring equipment, optical communication equipment and components, data communication equipment, broadband access communication equipment and other fields. Sales and service agencies have been established in various provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government across the country.

In addition to its Shanghai headquarters, the group has invested in the establishment of two subsidiaries, Zhongle Communication and Letong Yuandefu, which are respectively engaged in the research and production of data center related products and structural components such as laptops/servers.
